FFION EVANS
The Artist

Ffion Evans (b. 1997, North Wales) is a young contemporary artist whose practice revolves around tactility, playfulness and wellbeing. By creating playful and textural personalized objects for those suffering from mental health issues, Evans underlines the importance of engagement between the artworks and the public as a method of investigation and change that has become increasingly more important in the present pandemic context. With a restriction on touch and heightened fear-induced stress in the earlier spread of COVID-19, Evans’ work analyses the potential of creating objects which may ameliorate levels of stress in the present and in the future. Significantly, asking how they exist beyond their physicality.
Ffion Evans has recently completed her Masters in Textile Design from the Chelsea College of Arts.
